There are many things you can do around the house to help save money and energy all year long.

Remember three important words: turn it off. Don’t leave the video game on pause, or the computer in sleep mode. Those electronics are still using energy, even when you aren’t using them.
If you aren’t in the room, turn off the lights. Always remember to flick that switch, or unplug that light when you leave the room.
You can make it easy to turn off all those home electronics like TV’s, DVD players, computers and more. Simply plug them into power strips, and then turn the power strips off when the equipment is not in use.

Zumper Makes it Easier for Landlords to Manage Listings

A new startup, called Zumper, is providing landlords with a platform to easily manage their listings. The company would like to change the way landlords and brokers use technology and make a mark in the industry with its first iOS app Zumper Pro.

‘The company launched in beta last year as a web app to find apartments. The app allows you to search via a map view, by neighborhood, to favorite listings, follow a specific neighborhood’s listings feed and contact landlords directly through the interface. The difference is that Zumper never scraped or borrowed data from other sites — all the listings are original.…

Purge Your Home of Clutter and Start Spring Cleaning!

It’s time to start spring cleaning your home. So why not start with your home office or desk to purge your space of all that clutter and spark some productivity. Here is a checklist to get you started.

1) Start by cleaning off your desk.

Some Odd Uses for your Household Items

1) Beer can be used to ward off slugs.

If you leave leftover beer around your home the slugs will wander to the beverage, but you have to make sure the drink is hidden at ground level.

2) Leftover tea can rid your home of bad smells.

To remove odor you can place used tea bags in a jar and put it into the refrigerator. Also, to remove foot odors soak the soles of your shoes in black tea for 30 minutes.

3) Cold spoons can help with puffy eyes.
