Delicious Summer Cocktails

Summer is just around the corner, so why not relax and enjoy the weather by sipping on your favorite summer cocktail. Here are some recipes that include seasonal flavors and herbs so you can escape from the heat. These cocktails would be great for any summer gathering!

Perfect Margarita:

For one drink
1 1/2 oz. tequila (100% agave a must, preferably a “reposado“)
1 1/2 oz. triple sec or Cointreau
1 to 1 1/4 oz. of lime juice
Salt for the rim of the glass

Shake all the ingredients with cracked ice in a cocktail shaker until the exterior frosts.…

SideCar Boston

Free Rides from SideCar This Weekend

Starting today, SideCar will be giving out free rides this weekend in the Boston area to anyone who wants to try their new mobile app.

SideCar, the mobile app that allows ride sharing among peers, is now available in Boston, Washington D.C, and NYC. The app allows users with a Smartphone to obtain a ride with a driver that is willing to give them one, and payment will be optional. The service will be available Friday and Saturday nights between 5pm and 3am during its initial phase.

Taxi companies are not looking forward to SideCar expanding in Boston. Since it is a more affordable way to get around the city at night, people may be more willing to use the app, which can take away business from cab drivers.…

2nd Annual Summer Arts Weekend

2nd Annual Summer Arts Weekend will be July 26th-28th

 

The Boston Globe, WGBH, and Citizens Bank will be hosting the 2nd Annual Summer Arts Weekend July 26th-28th. The festival is free and will be located on Copley Square in Back Bay to promote the vibrant Boston art community.

The headliners for Friday’s opening concert will be Blues and Jazz performer Dr. John and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Attendees will not only be able to listen to Blues and Jazz but also Latin, bluegrass, and soul. There will be ticketed and free performances from local and national artists as well.

Saturday will be dedicated to the music of the world and will feature artists Carlos Nunez, Jake Shimabukuro, and award winning singer/songwriter Angelique Kidjo.…

New Apartment Complex in Seaport District

Plans for New Housing on the ‘Sausage Parcel’

Madison Properties plans to build a 22-story apartment complex in South Boston’s Seaport District. This will be a $200 million project at 399 Congress and will be an asset to the revitalized district.

The complex will be a 414-unit building on the “sausage parcel” near the Convention & Exhibition Center. There will be a number of compact units, shared gathering, work and conference areas, and a proposed retail and lobby space.

‘“While we still think this location is better suited for a hotel, the developer plans to go above and beyond on the affordable housing component, which is important to the continued growth of the Innovation District,” BRA spokeswoman Melina Schuler said.’

The Seaport District will also be undergoing other changes in the near future.…
