A twin tower complex may be in the works for the area surrounding TD Garden. Developers are hoping to build a hotel with 200 rooms, condos, 300,000 square feet of retail, 800 underground parking spaces, and office spaces.

The project is planned to be around 1.7 million square feet of space and residents in the neighborhood may oppose this new development.

“It complements what’s going on in that community,” James Brett of The New England Council said of the mega-proposal. “I think it’s going to be an exciting area.”

There is word that one of the retail spaces may be a supermarket but it is not confirmed.…

Google launched a streaming music service in the U.S that blends songs from your current library with millions of other tracks. For those that sign up before June 30^th it will cost $8 a month and subscribers receive a 30 day free trial.

The company is trying to delve into the music streaming service and tend to core music fans as well as casual listeners. The $8 subscription price is $2 cheaper than other major streaming services like Spotify and Rhapsody.

“Rival Apple Inc. is expected to debut a digital radio service later this year that will drive more people to its iTunes music store; Google-owned YouTube is also working on a paid subscription music plan with a deeper catalog of songs than it has now; and Sweden’s Spotify is exploring a way to make a version of its paid streaming plan free with ads on mobile devices, according to a person in the music industry familiar with the matter.…

Wegowise is the Boston startup that helps customers save money on utility bills by analyzing the building’s energy usage. The data benchmarks buildings with similar properties to compare usage. Also, it shows how much energy is being used over the course of the year and how expenses are distributed.

Recently the company raised $3 million in funding from Boston Community Capital. This money will go towards moving forward with their commercial platform since it recently moved into a commercial space.

“WegoWise’s pioneering model is transforming how the real estate industry manages energy use,” said Elyse Cherry, CEO of Boston Community Capital, in a release.…

Starting today, SideCar will be giving out free rides this weekend in the Boston area to anyone who wants to try their new mobile app.

SideCar, the mobile app that allows ride sharing among peers, is now available in Boston, Washington D.C, and NYC. The app allows users with a Smartphone to obtain a ride with a driver that is willing to give them one, and payment will be optional. The service will be available Friday and Saturday nights between 5pm and 3am during its initial phase.

Taxi companies are not looking forward to SideCar expanding in Boston. Since it is a more affordable way to get around the city at night, people may be more willing to use the app, which can take away business from cab drivers.…

To promote Downtown Crossing as a residential neighborhood the Downtown Boston Business Improvement District will be hosting a tour this week of the homes in the area.
